PTC Resettable Fuses

A PTC fuse is also known as a multifuse, polyfuse, or polyswitch. While cold, it will pass a current. When its rated current is passed through the device, it will begin to heat up, raising the resistance of the device. This increase substantially reduces the current in the circuit. A resettable fuse protects circuits from damage caused by overcurrent, overheating, overloads, and short circuits.
