The countersink cutter tool is used to create a conical hole cut. A common use is to allow the head of a countersunk screw to sit flush with or below the surface of the surrounding material. The center reamers are similar tools designed for countersinking for centers or for enlarging existing holes by a small amount but with a high degree of accuracy to leave smooth sides.
